ANZAC Platform System Upgrade Project
Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS)
The New Zealand Ministry of Defence (the Crown) has engaged TKMS Blohm + Voss NordseeWerke GmbH (TKMS BVN), through ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems Australia Pty Ltd (TKMSA), to provide support to the Crown in the definition, design, evaluation and acquisition of upgrades to its ANZAC Frigates, HMNZ Ships Te Kaha and Te Mana.
One area of upgrade is the replacement of the existing Vessel Platform Control and Monitoring System with an Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS).
The existing control and monitoring system onboard the ANZACs provides control and monitoring functionality over the propulsion, auxiliary and damage control systems. This system will no longer be supportable by 2013, and needs to be either upgraded or replaced to ensure the long term reliability and availability of the ANZACs. It has been determined that a contemporary integrated platform management system would not only overcome obsolescence issues but would also provide additional functionality highly beneficial to the RNZN. The additional functionality includes integrated bridge systems minimising the need for machinery watchkeepers, enhanced battle damage systems providing improved ability to manage and overcome damage, and remote monitoring capabilities to provide more efficient fault diagnosis and repair.
Respondents that meet the specified capability requirements, and have the skills, experience, resources and capabilities to undertake such a project are invited to submit a proposal in response to and in accordance with the Request for Proposal (RFP) TK1004 43800 T 0001 for the provision of an IPMS to meet the requirements of the Crown.
