Defence Review
The Minister of Defence has directed the Secretary of Defence, in consultation with the Chief of Defence Force, to prepare a Defence Assessment. The assessment will lead to a Defence White Paper in October 2010, an enduring statement of the Government’s defence policy objectives and key capability decisions.
New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF)
The New Zealand Defence Force is a separate organisation comprising the Royal New Zealand Navy, the New Zealand Army and the Royal New Zealand Air Force and is responsible for:
- Managing the armed forces day-to-day.
- Delivering the Government's defence policy.
