Headquarters NZDF
Headquarters NZDF Organisational Structure
The Headquarters NZDF is headed by the Chief of Defence Force, Air Marshal B. R. Ferguson, OBE, AFC.
The Chief of Defence Force is responsible for:
- the Chief of Navy
- the Chief of Army
- the Chief of Air Force
- the Commander Joint Forces New Zealand.
The Vice Chief of Defence Force, who reports to the Chief of Defence Force, is responsible for:
- Strategic Commitments and Intelligence
- Inspector General
- Resources
- Development
- Services
- Defence Attaches / Advisors
- the NZDF Support Unit South East Asia
- the NZDF Command and Staff College.
The Vice Chief of Defence Force also oversees the Coordination branch.
Other branches within Headquarters NZDF include:
- Corporate Finance which includes:
- Finance
- NZDF Treasury
- Corporate Risk and Assurance
- Personnel
- Communications and Information Systems
- Legal Services
- Executive Project Management
- International Defence Relations
- Public Relations.
Veterans' Affairs NZ is also part of Headquarters NZDF although it is a semi-autonomous Body. Veterans' Affairs NZ is co-headed by the Director VANZ and the Secretary for War Pensions.
