Evaluation reports
Section 24(2)(e) of the Defence Act 1990 requires the Secretary of Defence to arrange assessments and audits of the NZDF and of the procurement functions of the Ministry of Defence to a programme approved by, or as required by, the Minister of Defence. The Secretary is also required under section 3(6) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 to audit the controls on hazardous substances under the control of the Minister of Defence.
The Evaluation Division of the Ministry has been established to undertake these assessments and audits for the Secretary of Defence.
Reports of assessments and audits constitute advice to the Minister of Defence and are delivered to the Minister in accordance with the statutory requirements. Once the Minister has completed consideration of a report, that report may be published.
Electronic copies of reports published since 1 July 2011 are available from this page in HTML and PDF format. Bound copies of all published reports may be obtained on request to eval@defence.govt.nz.
