Appendix A: Defence Strategic Staff Activities

Appendix A outlines the main components of the Defence Strategic Staff and their reporting responsibilities. The Deputy Secretary of Defence and the Vice Chief of the Defence Force report jointly to the Secretary of Defence and Chief of Defence Force who in turn report directly to the Minister of Defence. Directly beneath the Deputy Secretary of Defence and Vice Chief of Defence is the Director of Strategic Management Improvement and Director of Staff Management.
