Intermediate Outcome 2: Reduced risks from regional and global insecurity
The New Zealand Defence Force Intermediate Outcome two is "reduced risks from regional and global insecurity" which has four parts, "secure, peaceful and stable South Pacific"; "secure, peaceful and stable Australia"; "secure, peaceful and stable Asia-Pacific region"; "a more secure and stable world". The Ministry contributes through its policy and planning output; in particular, advice on changes in the strategic environment and management of bilateral and multilateral defence relations.
